It’s almost 2014! I figured I would go through my FOTD posts and choose my personal five favorites to share with you. This year I found life changing rapidly for me. With moving, getting a dog, starting school and starting to work as a makeup artist for a new company, I didn’t have quite as much time to sit and play with makeup as I used to. Many of my looks took a softer quality as I tried to find the balance between work and play. (Interestingly enough, I noticed that most of my favorite eye makeup looks I chose actually used Femme Fatale Cosmetics on the eyes! What can I say, their eyeshadows are absolutely beautiful.)

So, without further ado, here are the five looks I chose to highlight from this past year — in no particular order. Is there a different look I created that you think should have made this list? Smile

I began to amass a huge collection of red lipsticks this year, and have worn a lot of red in the past few months in particular. I love how bold & classic a red lip can be. When I put it on, I instantly feel empowered. This look didn’t stick to the “red lip & winged eyeliner” combo, as I decided to do a soft, neutral smokey eye instead.

Faerie Fire & Spirit Bond featuring Femme Fatale Cosmetics and Fyrinnae

Pink is one of my favorite eyeshadow colors to work with, so I was particularly fond of this eye makeup look! Not only was it simply pretty in general, I loved the sparkle and contrast. This eye makeup worked perfectly with Fyrinnae’s “Ocelot” Lip Lustre, one of my favorite pale pink lip colors.

Twilight Amethyst featuring Femme Fatale Cosmetics and Milani Cosmtics

When I was first putting together this look, I wasn’t sure I was going to like it. I normally don’t do such a light lid shade. I was surprised by how much I ended up loving this look. My favorite part might be the winged shape, which was a combination of eyeshadow and a thin line of liquid eyeliner to sharpen it. The lipstick is “Uptown Mauve” by Milani Cosmetics, who reformulated their lipstick line and they are amazing now!

I loved the colors in this eye makeup! Beautiful warm shades which are perfect for fall. I got a lot of compliments when wearing this makeup and the best part is that it was so easy to put together… just a simple gradient of colors straight across the lid, nothing fancy.

Black Cherry featuring Fyrinnae and Milani Cosmetics

There is something so beautiful about a very dark lip color, so when I wanted to wear Milani’s “Black Cherry” Color Statement lipstick, I layered it up to have it as dark as possible! I then paired it with glowy taupe eyes, courtesy of Fyrinnae’s absolute perfect eyeshadow called “Witchy Woodland Creatures” — one of their “must have” shades in my opinion.

What did you think of the looks I chose? Would you have chosen some other ones?

Every one is beautiful! Your blending is immaculate every time. Have you ever done a post on what brushes/tools you use?

I haven’t done a post on my brushes but I have been asked what I used a few times…! The next time I wash them I will have to be sure to get some photos taken so I can put together a post about them. Smile

I love all 5 looks, but I think my favorite is the Faerie Fire & Spirit Bond. Love that pastel eye! But I like all the others very much too. Milani’s Uptown Mauve and the gorgeous Black Cherry are favorites of mine, too Smile

The Faerie Fire/Spirit Bond combo was my favorite, too. It just felt very iridescent and looked beautiful!
