Hello everyone! I have another Palladio Beauty post for you sharing another product I had the opportunity to try. My last reviews from the Palladio Beauty family included their Herbal Foundation Primer (posted here) as well as their Herbal Lip Gloss in “Baby Doll” (posted here). Today’s review is going to dive into their eyeshadows now, focusing on one of their Herbal Eyeshadow Quads — “Smokey Eyes”!
*Update — I just posted a FOTD/EOTD post where I use this palette! Hope you like it! *
The Palladio Beauty Herbal Eyeshadow Quads actually come with six different color combinations to suit a variety of preferences, whether you like to wear blues, greens, purples, or just go neutral with your eye makeup — they’ve got a quad put together for you! I chose the one called “Smokey Eyes” because I don’t have a palette with this color combination in it yet. These palettes sell for $8.00 USD and you receive 5 g / 0.17 oz of product. It came with the standard disposable double-ended sponge applicator which I usually throw away because I prefer my eyeshadow brushes.
You can find Palladio Beauty online at their website, or in beauty stores like ULTA Beauty or Sally Beauty Supply.
Enhance and intensify your eyes with six beautiful and highly-pigmented Eyeshadow Quads. Each color combination has been customized by a team of Makeup Artists, to suit both the sophisticated and ostentatious makeup lovers. Compacts come in an array of matte and shimmery shades that can be used year-round. (Dual, sponge-tip applicator included.)
I am a huge fan of the color combination in this palette, which is why I selected it. I love that it carries a soft, matte white, two mid-tone shades (pink & light, taupe-y silver), and a deeper smoke shade. I find that pink in general is extremely flattering for everyday, and it also photographs very well when worn on the eyes. These four colors together make it so easy to put together a romantic day time or night look.
Also, I have to say that I love how these shades are all together in a quad… I find myself appreciating palettes more and more these days! When I have to get ready at 6 AM in the morning so I can get to lecture or lab, I don’t really have time to dig around my makeup collection and try to choose from all my eyeshadows! Having a palette makes it a no-brainer so I can get my makeup done and look “put together”, get out the door and on with my day. I put on a nice, cream base (which helps my eyeshadow last forever and gives an extra pop! to the colors) and then apply a lid shade, crease, highlight. Boom, done!
Soft, matte white
Baby pink with subtle shimmer & sparkle
Light, taupe-y silver
Sooty charcoal with chunkier silver sparkle
I was impressed by the soft formula of these eyeshadows! None of them were patchy in their application and all felt very soft. They blend super nicely with one another which is perfect for creating a soft, smokey eye — like the name of the palette suggests. The soft white is great for inner corner or under the arch of the eyebrow for highlighting, and the pink and grey are so pretty in adding a hint of color without being overwhelming. When I see them together my mind jumps to how the colors in this quad just suggest femininity and romance. I was impressed with the dark charcoal shade — it actually had better pigmentation/application than Urban Decay’s “Blackout” (which I reviewed in my Build-Your-Own palette post here.) I will point out that using a base is definitely beneficial in bringing out the colors of these shadows as opposed to using them alone.
I love this palette and think it is so great that you get four eyeshadows for $8 — which breaks down to $2 an eyeshadow! Being a student again makes me really mindful of my money these days and I am finding myself keeping an eye out for beauty products which offer me quality but let me stick to a modest budget. The more products I try from Palladio Beauty, the more I am shocked I didn’t try them sooner. I think if you have not given Palladio a chance yet, what are you waiting for?
